Pool is a cuesport played on a table which has six pockets and balls. There are different ball colours (yellow and red or solid and stripes). Each player selects his designated ball they choose to pot in the pockets of the billiard table. The game nears its end when the 8 ball is the last ball to pot by ones opponent.

Eight ball and Blackball is currently of the popular games of pool played in the pool community. We also have a league we play in where we compete against different teams.

My father has been playing on a professional level for many years and I grew to love this sport because of him. One can compete on many levels in this sport and physics is implemented in pool. We focus on collision, momentum, mass and velocity.

A good pool player can achieve so much in this sport. You have to trial annually to make the National team and compete on a national level. At Nationals, it is then possible to make the international team if ones stats are good.

I also play Blackball pool and I am currently the South African Blackball National Champion in the under 15 category. I will hold this title until it is defeated at the next Blackball championship.
